Benji Tranter – releases ‘To Your Eyes?’ Visual ahead of forthcoming debut album!

After a 5-year hiatus Welsh singer songwriter Benji Tranter is back with a new album and a fresh new single ‘To Your Eyes?’ from his upcoming album, Songs to Make You Happy. Now Wales is known for its exportation of brilliant singers, so you can expect a Benji Tranter will maintain the Welsh tradition of perfect singing. And for this new release To Your Eyes he has succeeded in doing just that.

As someone who has not really heard this guy’s music before I did have some expectations but after listening to two minutes’ worth of this song, I was actually quite impressed.

Benji’s voice is quite as soft and soothing, and somewhat melodic. It’s almost as though he’s only singing to you and nobody else. Also, he knows how to play in the acoustic guitar which is a big plus. Your Eyes has that diary type field to it in which when you listen is, you’re hearing the most intimate thoughts. Well after 5 years away welcome back Benji

Proleter – It Don’t Mean a Thing

Hailing all the way from Toulouse in France French DJ/Producer, Beatmix Master and Composer Jimmy better known by his stage name Proleter. Like so many other DJ’s Producer’s, he definitely knows how to take old new and created something new. And which creats near to unique together. In this track he appears to done just that.

Originally by Ella Fitzgerald Gerald and Louis Armstrong Proleter Has taken an old blue-eyed jazz soul track. And reinvigorated it with new life using Beatmix vibes and in doing so it recreated a new song out of it. If anything, the results speak themselves

Unfortunately, there isn’t official video for the song but using the link above you get a still image. But still enjoy an Ella Fitzgerald Gerald and Lewis Armstrong reworked classic

Mr Scruff – Get a Move on

Originally released in 1999 then re-released two years later in 2001. Get a Move On is a dance track from British DJ/Producer Andrew Carthy featuring vocal samples from American blues singer T-Bone Walker. The song made waves a few years ago when it appeared in an advert for B&Q.

It’s genuinely an interesting when DJ’s make new tracks out of old retro songs as in a way. It’s almost a reinvention yet quite often, they do pull it off and in this particular track they’ve worked it. And they are given something old and given it a new life

The video is just as creative as the song itself as is the usage of a cartoon and abstraction imagery. Yeah, it’ll be added to the video and combine them. It seems to work so well as both act as an abstract visual piece

Gramophonedzie – Why Don’t You

Released away back in 2010 by Serbian DJ/Producer Gramophonedzie remix Peggy Lee’s 1942 version of a 1936 swing classic. Why Don’t You Do Right. The result was this, an absolute gem of a song.  When the remix was released it did the rounds on the radio for quite a while. During the 1st half of 2010 before disappearing again into total obscurity.  One the reasons why the song works so well is that it taken a swing classic. And that she worked and remix it with dance vibes which helped sound more developed. However, do so gave it a better sound. And people still so long to Peggy Lee

She may be long gone but thanks to the modern technology of computer graphics. The music charm of Peggy Lee has been brought back in this video, check it out
