24/7 Good Samaritans Day Raises Charitable Awareness

Next Monday marks the 24/7 Good Samaritans Day, a special moment to raise awareness and appreciate all the work done by the charity.
Mental health problems like anxiety, depression and stress are affecting a good one third of British employees.
To combat that, Samaritans offer a safe place for any of us to talk, at any point you like, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
The charity offers a confidential support service for anyone in the UK or Ireland, who needs to talk to someone about troubles in life. It’s run by volunteers who offer support on the phone, online, and even letters.
Every six seconds someone contacts the Samaritans, according to the charity’s statistics, so their work is vital.
This year the Samaritans will be hosting The Big Listen, which will launch at 12 noon on 24 July, when volunteers will be out raising awareness for the work they do. Keep an eye out for the green vest saying “Talk to us”!
If you have been inspired by the work of the Samaritans, you can visit their website here to get more information about how to get involved (samaritans.org/media-centre/big-listen).
You can also see what work is being done by following the hashtag #SamaritansAwarenessDay on Twitter on the day.
You can get in touch with the Samaritans at any time from any phone on 116 123 or email [email protected].
