Wembley Stadium, London, UK

The FA Cup is the oldest and longest-running football (soccer) competition in the world. This year it is the 137th final of the FA Cup and it will be played between Manchester United and Chelsea. Manchester United will return to Wembley after defeating Tottenham 2-1 in the first of this season’s semi-finals, with Jose Mourinho set to face his former side Chelsea in May’s final.
It was first held in 1871-72 with entries from 15 clubs. Since then, the FA Cup has grown considerably and each year several hundred teams enter the competition. The tournament is followed closely around the world, with television audiences having reached approximately 875 million viewers during last season.
The FA Cup may not be as lucrative for top tier clubs as the Premier League or Champions League, however it is regarded as the best cup competition in the world given its prestige and heritage and the FA Cup still represents a huge financial windfall for clubs in lower leagues.
