Kesha covers T-Rex’s ‘Children Of The Revolution’

Kesha has covered the popular T-Rex’s track, ‘Children Of The Revolution’. Anika Anjume Khan reports.

Kesha has released a cover of T-Rex’s ‘Children Of the Revolution’ as an unexpected treat for her fans. The song was released alongside a video which features covers 70’s era archival footage of the iconic band and its lead singer, Marx Bolan.

The song is included on a new tribute album, ‘Angelheaded Hipster’ and is dedicated to the songs of the late Marc Bolan. The new version of the song features Bolan’s son on backing vocals.

The new track was also the last song produced by Hal Willner who passed away in April from COVID related complications.

Willner produced this song for the upcoming star-studded tribute album, “Angelheaded Hipster: the Songs of Marc Bolan and T. Rex.”

Kesha discussed the late legendary producer and said: “Through a stroke of luck, I met the incredibly talented and kind Hal Willner. We were in the same studio and he said he liked my red Nudie suit, and then when he mentioned that he was working on a project that involved honoring Marc Bolan, I excitedly started rambling about how much T. Rex has influenced my music and my style”

Kesha also added: “Right there we decided to record our own incarnation of ‘Children of the Revolution,’ a motherfucker of a song! I’m excited for the world to finally hear it! This project was so exciting and important to the late great Hal, and I’m humbled to be a part of this project honouring one of the most magical artists of the 20th century.”
