Trans women have a long history in the music industry, as well as a long history of bringing the industry forward. Nowadays, the generation of young trans women is increasing and taking over the music industry. Transgender musicians are using their platforms to make their voices to be heard.

Left At London, “Revolution Lover”
The song is from Transgender Street Legend Vol. 1. The album was released on 9 November 2018. Transgender Street Legend, Vol. 3 will be released in 2022 as a sequel. The Transgender Street Legend, Vol. 2 was released on 25 September 2020.
Shea Diamond, “Good Pressure”
ShaGasyia popularly known as “Shea” Diamond is a transgender rights activist and singer-songwriter from the United States.
Kim Petras, “Coconuts”
Petras released a series of singles between 2008 and 2009, including “Fade Away” (2008), “Last Forever,” “Die for You,” and “Boomerang” (all 2009). Born as a male, Petras released Coconuts on 3 December 2021, a month earlier than planned, due to overwhelming fan response on TikTok.
Sophie, “It’s Okay To Cry”
Sophie initially wanted to remain anonymous but later revealed herself to be a trans woman. Sophie released “It’s Okay to Cry” in October 2017. In the song, Sophie’s voice and image were used for the first time in a solo release.
Teddy Geiger, “For You I Will (Confidence)”
Geiger’s debut album, Underage Thinking, was released in 2006 which she signed to Columbia Records as a teenager. It reached at number eight on the US Billboard 200 albums chart.
