5 Things To Do at Citadel Festival

By Tia Cham

Citadel Festival is a summer day festival in London that started in 2014. The sister-fest to Lovebox will be returning to Gunnersbury Park this Sunday. However, Citadel is a lot more chilled than Lovebox. Those attending the event can enjoy comedy, theatre and debates, as well as participate in a variety of games and activities. Additionally, Citadel has an amazing musical line-up, this year’s acts include Bastille, Bear’s Den, Catfish and Tinariwen.

1 . Reach new heights with space yoga
Let loose, I mean literally. Take part in a bit of space yoga at Citdael, where the exercises and poses copy the effects that microgravity – the thing that makes astronauts float around in space – has on the mind and body.
2 . Shake more than a leg at an aerobics class
Frame’s ’80s-themed aerobics class will take festival-goers back in time. Pass by the dance studio if you’re in the mood to get high in a more wholesome way.
3 .Party with Friendly Fires
After eight years away, vibrant dance-pop group Friendly Fires are back and are as lively as ever. With the release of their new album, ‘Inflorescent’ pending. The trio will be giving punters a little preview of it as the evening comes to a close.
4 . Laugh away with Sunday Papers Live
It’s rare that a news story in 2019 will make you crack out in laughter but a session with the Sunday Papers Live crew will turn the most blue stories into banter .Join comedians Adam Riches, Phil Wang and plenty of others as they joke their way through each section of the broadsheet.
5 . Have a lunch out of this world
Is space travel out of your budget this year? The Guerrilla Science tent is the next best thing. Those attending Citadel this Sunday can try growing their own space food. You’ll even be able to take some intergalactic sproutings for the road.
