5 things to know about Weeknd’s new single ‘Take My Breath’

The Weeknd, three times grammy award winner has released the video for his peppy new song, “Take My Breath.” It’s the first single from his upcoming album, which is the follow-up to his 2020 smash, After Hours.

Let’s know few things about the new video:

  1. The single arrives with an Olympics promo and an aborted IMAX music video premiere.
  2. The video comes with an epilepsy warning by Clique.
  3. The Weeknd revealed, “Take My Breath” earlier this week in a commercial for the Olympics featuring Team USA’s women’s track and field team. Later he shared an instrumental teaser. Which paired the song with its thumping drums and tangled synths.
  4. The singer is seen walking outside in a dawn setting and also down a hallway before he emerges in a club with pulsating strobe lights and dancing in the videos. He catches up with a love interest as they dance and share breaths from an oxygen tank. Later his breath is taken away as he’s strangled by his paramour’s braids.
  5. The video continuing the lively disco rhythms of his previous albums, ‘After Hours’ and ‘Starboy’.

Weekend welcomed the arrival of ‘Take My Breath’ On social media. “THE DAWN IS HERE !!!” he coated.
