5 Eco-friendly Appliances for Home

Global warming is at an all-time high in the world yet we all know its devastating effects. We should be participating to counter global warming and preserve the planet. And since charity begins at home, here are five Eco-friendly appliances you can use at home and contribute to the ‘save the planet movement’.

LED Bulbs
Light Emitting Diodes (LED) bulbs are termed as energy-efficient because they emit more light while using less power. Since lighting contributes a significant portion of energy use in our households, energy-efficient bulbs can be used to save power. In addition to reducing power bills, LED bulbs preserve the environment by maximizing energy utility.

Halogen Ovens
They are also conserving energy by utilizing halogen lamps. Halogen ovens are environmentally friendly in that they conserve energy as compared to conventional ovens and also reduce energy wastage.

Solar cooker
Solar cookers are known for their effectiveness and slashing the cooking period. They also can work in-doors with minimum sunlight due to technological advancements. Solar cookers can also be used for grilling food such as meat, fish etc.

LED Television
The range of potential eco-friendly appliances for the home is more diverse than some may assume. Televisions are again low on the must-have list for green appliances. There is also the added benefit that LED TV contains no toxic metals like mercury. However, they are a commonly used item requiring plenty of power and smart features.

Steam Washing Machines
Washing machines are one of the most commonly replaced items when dealing with eco-friendly appliances. This is because there are some obvious savings to make. Steam washing means a better, quickly clean with around 30% less water, and is sure to be in use in many new eco-friendly appliances.
