The 2020 Summer Olympics, officially the Games of the XXXII Olympiad and branded as Tokyo 2020, is an upcoming international multi-sport event scheduled to be held from 21 July to 8 August 2021 in Tokyo, Japan. This year 206 countries will participate in this game.

The Olympic Games raise to a worldwide tournament of sorts where athletes from all over the world come together to participate in their respective countries’ names and honors. The Olympics are the leading international sports event, held in different cities each year. Some cities have hosted multiple Olympic events, such as Los Angeles, California, which held the Summer Olympics in 1932 and 1984. 1.The United States

 American athletes have won a total of 2,523 medals through them 1,022 gold at the Summer Olympic Games and another 305 at the Winter Olympic Games, making the United States the most prolific medal-winning nation in the history of the Olympics. These achievements are even more remarkable fact that the American Olympic team remains the only one in the world to receive no government funding.

2.The Soviet Union

 The Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR) first participated at the Olympic Games in 1952, and competed at the Summer and Winter Games on 18 occasions afterward. At six of its nine appearances at the summer sports. this Soviet team ranked top place in the total number of gold medals won. This team also was ranked first in the gold medal count seven times and second twice in nine appearances at the Winter Olympic Games. 

3.Germany

Germany’s team has taken part in most of the Olympic Games since the first modern Games in 1896. Germany has hosted three Olympic Games, in 1936 both the Winter and Summer Games, and the 1972 Summer Olympics. Germans were banned from participating in 1920, 1924, and 1948 due to World Wars. Including the Winter Games of 2018, German athletes have won 1754 medals: 578 gold, 589 silver, and 587 bronze. 

4.Great Britain

 the United Kingdom’s Athletes compete in the Olympic Games as part of the team Great Britain and Northern Ireland or Team GB. It has sent athletes to every Summer and Winter Games since the start of the Olympics’ modern era in 1896. Also participated in the 1980 Summer Olympics, which were boycotted by some other Western nations. From 1896 to 2018 inclusive, Great Britain & NI has won 851 medals at the Summer Olympic Games, and another 32 at the Winter Olympic Games. 

5.France

France has competed in every modern Olympic Games probable from 1904. With Albert Corey’s appearance being credited by different sources to either the United States or France. The IOC has determined that his relationship was with the United States of America. French athletes have won 716 medals at the Summer Olympic Games, with fencing and cycling as the top medal-producing sports. France has won an additional 124 medals at the Winter Olympic Games, mostly in alpine skiing.
