Artist: Kele
Better known for his work with Bloc Party, Kele Okereke has been pretty busy as a solo artist in recent years. 2042 is an eclectic work which takes in a whole range of music styles and arrangements. What is astounding is that it works as a flowing entity. In fact it’s a brilliant piece of work. There’s an overriding arc of spirituality giving the impression that Kele is very aware of his own mortality. Even so this whole album remains upbeat. It’s not often artists from bands go on to excel as a solo act. Kele Okereke looks to be an exception to that rule.
