You People

Author: Nikita Lalwani

You People is an exploration of the lives of migrants weaved through with acts of showing compassion. At a time when sentiments of the ‘other’ are running so high, Nikita Lalwani reminds us that we live in a diverse world and we all have stories of struggle and survival.

You People is centered around a pizzeria in London, with a defiant proprietor Tuli. A Welsh waitress at the establishment is running from her family and a refugee smuggled in from Sri Lanka during the civil war is desperate to find his. The protagonists’ morality is questioned when Tuli’s secret dealings come to light.

This is a great read to add to your quarantine TBR list.
