Anne-Marie Rose Nicholson is an English singer and songwriter, born and raised in East Tilbury, Essex. She began her career at a young age by starring in several West End productions including: Les Misérables, at the age of six and Whistle Down the Wind. Anne-Marie first recorded music under the label Rocket Records, where she recorded a demo “Summer Girl”, which was not released. However, she became known and gained music popularity from featuring on songs by Gorgon City and Rudimental, whom the latter originally asked for her to join the group permanently, which she declined. She subsequently signed a joint record deal with Asylum and she attained major charting success on the UK Singles Chart in 2016 after she featured on Clean Bandit’s “Rockabye”, which peaked at number-one globally and became the UK’s Christmas number one for 2016, making it the first song to do so that was not an X Factor winner’s song, charity single, or stunt song since “Mad World” in 2003.
