ArtScience Museum is to host STAR WARS™ Identities: The Exhibition in Singapore from 30 January to 13 June 2021. The event will take place at the ArtScience Museum at Marina Bay Sands.
The exhibition will feature models, props, artworks, and costumes from the popular space fantasy franchise. It will showcase 200 items from the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art in Los Angeles.
The props will be showcased in different sections based on the main characters of the films. It will include Luke Skywalker, R2-D2, Darth Vader, Princess Leia, Yoda, Chewbacca, and Boba Fett.
Star Wars fans will also be able to see the concept pictures, storyboards, modeling techniques, designs, and dolls from the franchise.
“Star Wars Identities uses original artwork from epic space stories to explore human identity in innovative ways,” said Honor Harger, director of the museum.
Visitors will also get the chance to meet Darth Vader, R2-D2, Chewbacca, Boba Fett, Yoda, and the Millennium Falcon. There is also a feature called ‘Identity Search’. Through this feature, visitors can find roles and identities in the Star Wars universe.
“Through the exploration of the characters and worlds of Star Wars, this interactive exhibition connects us with themes that can resonate with our own sense of self, familial identity and shared experience. In Singapore, the exhibition will engage that connection…fantasy meets reality, with a dash of reflection and adventure,” said George Lucas, Star Wars creator.
The exhibition has been touring since 2012 in cities such as Montreal, Paris, and Vienna This Singapore edition is going to be the closure of the tour.
Tickets will start to sell from 15 January 2021, at Marina Bay Sands box offices. Visitors are strongly encouraged to purchase their tickets online.
