Game of Thrones star Kit Harington and Rose Leslie make their on-screen romance official and tied knot on June 23 at the Kirkton of Rayne church in Aberdeenshire, a literal castle in Scotland.
The couple started dating after meeting on Game of Thrones set in 2012 and announced their engagement in September 2017 and finally got married in Wardhill Castle, a family castle owned by Leslie’s father with a reception.
Harington was spotted arriving at the church in an amazing suit, sporting his signature, long Jon Snow hair while Leslie took the show with flowing long sleeve ivory gown and veil with heart-melting smile.
Guests at the wedding included Game of Thrones stars Peter Dinklage, Maisie Williams, Sophie Turner and Emilia Clarke, as well as Jack Donnelly and his partner, fellow actor Malin Akerman.
Upon leaving the church hand-in-hand, the bride and groom were showered with rose petal confetti before driving off in a car decorated with “Just Married” signs.
“We are absolutely thrilled for Kit and Rose to be marrying today. It’s an absolutely lovely day for us”, said Leslie’s father, Sebastian, It’s a great day for Aberdeenshire “we are using local caterers, local lighting, local flowers”.
The couple, both aged 31-years old, played a couple as the characters Jon Snow and Ygritte in HBO fantasy TV series. Leslie left the cast in 2014 and currently stars in U.S. legal drama “The Good Fight” while Kit is waiting for the last season of GOT.
“Because the country is beautiful, because the Northern Lights are magical, and because it was there that I fell in love,” Kit said after revealing the wedding dates. “If you’re already attracted to someone, and then they play your love interest in the show, it becomes very easy to fall in love”.
