Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner of Los Angeles announced the news on Wednesday that Verne Troyer’s death has cause has been ruled as a suicide.
Verne was reportedly placed on a 5150 hold because he was believed to be suicidal. The star died of suicide by alcohol intoxication.The actor’s family confirmed he was battling alcoholism and depression at the time.
“Verne was also a fighter when it came to his own battles. Over the years he’s struggled and won, struggled and won, struggled and fought some more, but unfortunately, this time was too much.”
Troyer was taken by paramedics from his home in North Hollywood to a hospital in Van Nuys for reported alcohol intoxication on April 3.
Verne’s death news was published by an instragram post. The post noted that he has issues with depression.
“Depression and Suicide are very serious issues. You never know what kind of battle someone is going through inside. Be kind to one another. And always know, it’s never too late to reach out to someone for help.”
During this recent time of adversity, he was baptised while surrounded by his family. The family appreciates that they have this time to grieve privately.
Troyer was best known for his role as Mini-Me in Mike Myers’ Austin Powers films. In May, Myers teared up remembering his friend during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live.
