US-Ukraine Arms Deal, a Jackpot for the Biden Administration?

Recently, Russia cautioned the US to stop providing arms to Ukraine. And this week the Biden administration has already met the leading weaponry manufacturers of the US. Russia is claiming that the involvement of the US is just adding fuel to the existing tension.

Recent Activities

Ukraine recently claims that they have successfully attacked one of Russia’s warships. The report suggests that the Russian warship sank due to the Ukrainian cruise missiles attack. Since then, Russia has been critical of the interest of the Biden administration.

Apart from that, the tension is rising because, according to the reports, Sweden and Finland may join NATO too.

New Arm Deal

According to the reports, the Biden administration is planning to transfer arms worth USD 800 million to Ukraine. The package contains coastal defense, armored Humvees, drones, and howitzers. This new deal would definitely help Ukraine but the problem is Russia would consider this deal differently. And for sure the intensity of the ongoing war might get affected badly because of this deal.

The Business

War is definitely one of the money-making machines. And things are becoming more profitable for the military industry—especially for the leading weaponry manufacturers of the US. The US is about to offer an arms deal worth about a billion USD to Ukraine. That means the US would give weaponry manufacturers new deals to fill their own stocks.

Since the beginning of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, the Biden administration has been delivering arms to Ukraine, and the deliveries are worth more than USD 3 billion.

The Biden administration claims that they are endorsing democracy by supporting as well as providing arms to Ukraine. But the question is: who would save democracy in Yemen? The weaponry manufactured in the US is being used in Yemen to destroy school buses and to kill unarmed people. The Biden administration is just trying to reshape its international image by addressing the issue of Ukraine.
