Glastonbury Festival is the latest major event to fall victim to the coronavirus pandemic.
Organisers had hoped it would still be able to go ahead for its 50th anniversary year, even announcing the line-up last week.
However this morning an official statement was posted across the Festival’s social media to announce the decision to cancel.
Ticket holders have been told they will have a guaranteed opportunity to buy tickets for Glastonbury 2021, by rolling over the £50 deposit they have already paid.
The decision to call off the world-renowned festival has been made before 1 April, when they would have been due to pay the remaining balance of £270.

The cancellation follows government advice to avoid mass gatherings.
Due to headline on the Pyramid Stage were Paul McCartney, Taylor Swift and Kendrick Lamar, with Diana Ross in the legends slot.
