Each Thursday evening, millions across the UK have been taking part in a mass round of applause to show appreciation and support for the NHS and critical workers during the coronavirus pandemic.
Clap for our Carers has become a weekly event, joining communities across the UK together to stand in solidarity with key workers who are caring for coronavirus patients and ensuring the safety of the public during this time.
The movement was launched by Dutch Londoner, Annemarie Plas, who was inspired to start the event after seeing a similar tribute to key workers in her home country of the Netherlands.
The Clap for our Carers has provided a much-needed boost to the nation during this stressful time and has helped to unite communities during the current social distancing measures that are in place to reduce the spread of the virus.
Taking place every Thursday at 8PM, this week marked the fourth week in a row that millions of people across the UK participated in this event, with families gathered on their doorsteps and in their gardens cheering our key workers while remaining a house-width apart from their neighbours.
