UFC Fight Island has returned on September 26 at Yas Island, Abu Dhabi with the very first event UFC-253. Dipto Paul Reports.
This was the first pay-per-view event from the Return to UFC FIGHT ISLAND where the rest four events are coming week by week.
Here we will try recapping the whole scenario from the last week’s UFC-253 event.
Middleweight Championship
New Zealand MMA fighter Israel Adesanya who is also the undefeated champion of the Middleweight quota, takes on Brazilian powerhouse Paulo Costa for the Middleweight Championship belt. From the very beginning, Costa received some heavy kick on his leg from the champion and takes a knockout defeat in the second round. Currently, Adesanya has a record of 20 wins and no loss.
Featherweight Fight
Canadian MMA fighter Hakeem Dawodu fights on Russian fighter Zubaira Tukhugov for the Featherweight fight. With a solid fight from both the performers, the war ended with Split Decision, and Hakeem Dawodu named as the winner.
Women’s Bantamweight Fight
In the Women’s Bantamweight Fight, American professional Sijara Eubanks takes on Ketlen Vieira from Brazil. This fight ends with a unanimous decision by the judges as Vieira was the controller of the whole fight. Ketlen Vieira’s relaxation with calmness and not to take any bad decisions during the fight made her the Bantamweight Champion.
Flyweight Fight
Flyweight Fight ends with a stunning ‘Guillotine Choke’ by Brandon Royal to his opponent Kai Kara-France in the second round. First-round was a round of knockdown competition from both the fighters as spectators watched a big knee from Kara-France and then an immediate spinning back fist from Royal.
Light Heavyweight Championship
Dominick Reyes and Jan Blachowicz fight each other on the Light Heavyweight Championship match. Dominick Reyes looked very aggressive and forceful in the first round, where Jan was seen as much comfortable and focused. In the second round, Jan Blachowicz won the fight by TKO.
