Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj have teamed up again dropped Grande’s new single “The Light Is Coming” at midnight Wednesday.
‘The Light is Coming’ is taken from Grande’s forthcoming new album ‘Sweetener’. Featuring Nicki Minaj, the track was also produced by Pharrell.
The song, which kicks off with a fiery verse from frequent collaborator Nicki Minaj has more than one hit-maker involved. Pharrell created the infectious beat and synth-heavy sound.
The cover art for the single features a silhouette of the singer upside down, a recurring visual theme she seems quite fond of. Grande also announced that her album ‘Sweetener’ will be released August 17 this year.
Last week, Grande and Minaj shared another collaborative track ‘Bed’ which was taken from Minaj’s forthcoming new album ‘Queen’.
“The light is coming to take back everything the darkness stole,” Grande sing- speaks in the catchy chorus, presumably referencing her tumultuous past year in the spotlight.
Apart from this, this month marked the one-year anniversary of the terrorist attack at Grande’s concert in Manchester, England, that claimed the lives of 22 people where she was paying tribute through social media.
Ariana also in spotlight throughout this year for his toxic relationship with Mac Miller and her engagement with ‘Saturday Night Live’ star Pete Davidson.
