Eli Roth is stepping away from some of the more gruesome films he’s known for to direct The House with a Clock in its Walls. THWACIIW focuses around a ten year old orphan boy who goes to live with his estranged warlock uncle (played by Jack Black) and his witchy neighbour (Cate Blanchett) and is tasked with discovering a clock within the walls of their huge mansion.
Tagging itself as a gothic fantasy horror may mean that Eli Roth isn’t stepping too far out of his comfort zone, but still looks to provide an interesting and engaging experience.
