Hoyeon Jung, Netflix’s ‘Squid Game’ star becomes the New Global Ambassador of fashion juggernaut Louis Vuitton on October 6. Louis Vuitton officially announced Hoyeon Jung, who plays Kang Sae-byeok in the series, as its new global ambassador.
Squid Game, the series which is streaming on Netflix is now talk of the town. Since its premiere on September 17, the Korean drama has taken over the world. It’s producing a new crop of superstars. So it’s visible the timing of Louis Vuitton’s announcement is more than perfect.
It was her debut as an actor. Hoyeon started in the fashion industry as a teenager. In 2016, she landed her first major show with Louis Vuitton. Hoyeon walked the Louis Vuitton Spring 2017 ready-to-wear show in Paris. She is taking part in the campaign for the collection.
After news of Hoyeon’s new role broke, Nicolas Ghesquière, the house’s artistic director of women’s collections, took to Instagram to discuss the new partnership. He wrote,
“I’m excited for the new chapter in her journey with Louis Vuitton. I immediately fell for Hoyeon’s outstanding talents and fantastic personality.”
With expressing her gratitude Hoyeon said media outlet,
“I’m looking forward to every moment I will experience with Louis Vuitton as their global ambassador. It is an honor to mark my beginnings as an actress with them after having worked with them as a model”
