Prior to Richarlison’s close-range goal in the 62nd minute, Brazil had a difficult time breaking through the Serbian defense. Neymar had initiated the move. Both goals were assisted by Vincius Jnior. Neymar, who is vying for Brazil’s first major championship, has scored 75 goals for the national team, two fewer than Pelé’s record.
Serbia’s performance gives them a reason for hope.
Richarlison was the star of the night, but Serbia should be praised for their effort. They successfully restrained Brazil for an hour, and their press was impressive. Although they posed little of an attacking threat, their focus and perseverance were admirable. Brazil had to use some sort of wizardry to end the game.

Brazil had trouble entertaining tonight when playing a plodding Serbia team. However, they discovered their showman in Richarlison.
