U.S. President Donald Trump has landed in the U.K. While the crowds have gathered for the occassion, they aren’t necessarily there to support the American leader.
Tens of thousands of U.K citizens took to the streets in protest of President Trump’s visit. Trump arrived on Thursday, and the protests will continue until his departure.
The rally “Together Against Trump” brought together around 5,000 people. The march began at 5:30pm, beginning on Downing Street in London.
Friday, however, will see two rallies take place: a women’s march as well as an anti-Trump rally that will be expecting around 60,000 people. Protesters will gather at Portland Place at 2:00pm, with the actual march set to begin at 3:00pm. The route will take the U.K. citizens down Regent Street and Haymarket, ending in Trafalgar Square, where the rally will commence. It is expected to be between 5:00 – 7:00pm.
Though there are many protests going on, a march in support of President Trump has also been organized. It is set to take place on Saturday, beginning at the U.S. Embassy at 10:00am.
