People Protest Against the UK-Saudi Arabia Relationship and Role in Yemeni War

Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince, Mohammed Bin Salman, has been on a visit to the UK all week and was received with open arms by the government – but people were not happy.
The Crown Prince has been trying to present himself internationally as the bringer of “change” to the Middle Eastern nation – the argument is that  women now have more rights: they can now drive, attend football matches…
The British people, however, were not having any of it. They condemned Saudi’s action and atrocities they have committed in the war in Yemen. The UK sells arms to Saudi Arabia that are more than likely responsible for thousands of Yemeni deaths.
While the Crown Prince was meeting the prime minister at Downing Street, crowds gathered outside to protest the arms deal between the UK and Saudi Arabia.
The leader of the opposition, Jeremy Corbyn, took the opportunity of the Prime Minister’s Questions to highlight the horrors in which the UK are indirectly involved and to put the government on the spot.
You can sign the petition to foreign secretary Boris Johnson asking him to stop the arms deal with Saudi Arabia here. The UK taking action could make a huge change to the war in Yemen.
