Notting Hill Carnival is finally here!

Notting Hill Carnival will be held virtually and has announced the details of the digital event along with the lineup for this year. PuzaSnigdha reports.

The 54th edition of Notting Hill Carnival is going to be held on the August bank holiday weekend and this year the carnival will be happening completely an online program for the first time ever.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the event organizers have announced back in May that Notting Hill Carnival will be held online on 29th August and will be streamed across four channels. Radio presenters DJ Ace and Remel London will host the show globally.

The annual carnival has been taking place since 1966 in every August of each year to celebrate the Caribbean culture and traditions in London and following that the event was set to be held in Kensington.

The online event will feature the performances and entertainment of the selected performers. There will be a countdown on a large screen at Piccadilly Circus.

The event spokesman said that Spotify will launch a microsite which will highlight the importance of carnival culture and also a playlist including the Marleys, reggae musician Koffee, and dancehall artist Spice in the UK.
