30 Days Wild is the UK’s month-long nature campaign run by The Wildlife Trusts. From little actions to big things, 30 Days Wild is all about re-connecting with the natural world around us and doing a little bit of good for wildlife.
This year’s 30 Days Wild breaks all the record of wildness. The challenge saw more participants than ever before where new analysis show a 40 per cent increase on last year. Over 350,000 people took part in this month’s national nature challenge, pledging to explore nature on their doorstep every day during June.
“We estimate that if every person who signed up through their home, family, school or business carried out 30 Random Acts of Wildness, that would be an over 10 million special moments with nature.” said Lucy McRobert who leads 30 Days Wild for The Wildlife Trusts, “We know that joining in with 30 Days Wild makes people feel happier and healthier and we have also discovered that it’s helping people see beauty in nature”.
The University of Derby have monitored participants of 30 Days Wild since it began in 2015. 68,300 people signed up including individuals, families, schools and businesses estimated 356,850 participants.
