More than 40 Swiss Soldiers Hit by Vomiting Bug

Almost 43 military staff and recruits in an academy in central Switzerland were sent to hospital on Thursday suddenly suffered from acute gastrointestinal problems, with diarrhea and vomiting. The number can increase at any time.
An army spokesman told that four of those affected were in a critical condition. The authorities were still trying to determine the cause of the disease outbreak.
The Swiss defense department said, “As a result, all 43 service members were sent by ambulance and helicopter to hospitals and military medical facilities.”
As a precaution, the canton of Bern has imposed a quarantine on the Jassbach site, Linden, in Switzerland’s Bern canton, which specializes in cyber-defense training.
