Megyn Kelly started internet based life backfire Monday in an exchange on her “Megyn Kelly Today” about Halloween celebrants donning dark or white face cosmetics which later, she sent an email to NBC News colleagues apologizing for her on-air remarks.
An emotional Megyn Kelly said she has learned from the backlash over her comments defending blackface and she is apologizing for that.
“I want to begin with two words: I’m sorry,” she said at the Wednesday morning’s show. “You may have heard that yesterday we had a conversation about political correctness and Halloween costumes. … I defended the idea, aying that as long it was respectful and part of a Halloween costume, that it seemed OK. Well, I was wrong, and I am sorry.”
On the show, Kelly suggested that some people who get in costume are simply trying to get into character, as in a case she cited the example of Luann de Lesseps, who once generated debate by dressing as Diana Ross for Halloween.
But during a town hall meeting Wednesday with NBC employees, Lack condemned Kelly’s defense of wearing blackface on Halloween to NBC News employees, calling her remarks “unfortunate, a report stated.
