Guitar lesson (C, G, Em, D, Am)
- Chords
- C major chord: Place your first finger on the second fret of the second string and your third finger on the fourth fret of the fifth string. Strum all six strings.
- G major chord: Place your second finger on the third fret of the sixth string, your middle finger on the second fret of the fifth string, and your ring finger on the third fret of the fourth string. Strum all six strings.
- Em minor chord: Place your second finger on the second fret of the fourth string and your third finger on the second fret of the third string. Strum all six strings.
- D major chord: Place your first finger on the second fret of the first string and your third finger on the second fret of the third string. Strum all six strings.
- Am minor chord: Place your first finger on the second fret of the second string and your third finger on the second fret of the fifth string. Strum all six strings.
- Strumming
- Down strum: Strum all six strings in a downwards motion.
- Up strum: Strum all six strings in an upwards motion.
- Alternate strumming: Down strum, up strum, down strum, up strum, and so on.
ukulele chords
- The four most common ukulele chords are C, G, Am, and F.
- To play a C chord, place your index finger on the second fret of the A string, your middle finger on the third fret of the E string, and your ring finger on the second fret of the C string.
- To play a G chord, place your index finger on the second fret of the D string and your middle finger on the third fret of the G string.
- To play an Am chord, place your index finger on the second fret of the E string and your middle finger on the first fret of the C string.
- To play an F chord, place your index finger on the first fret of the D string, your middle finger on the second fret of the G string, and your ring finger on the third fret of the A string.
Once you have mastered these four chords, you can start playing many popular songs.
