Man Confessed Robbing Bank to Impress Taylor Swift

A fan’s obsessive on pop singer Taylor Swift led him to rob an Ansonia bank last week, drive to her Rhode Island home where he allegedly threw some of the illegally acquired money over the fence as an offering.
According to police, 26-year-old Bruce Rowley, of Derby, robbed the Webster Bank at 200 Division St. in Ansonia but did not show a weapon and didn’t make any threats to impress Taylor Swift.
While Rowley decided to drive home as the singer didn’t show up, Rhode Island troopers spotted his vehicle and pursued him into Connecticut, where Rowley was apprehended.
“Rowley continued to say that he had a ‘crush’ on Taylor Swift and wanted to impress her so he robbed the bank,” stated in a report by a police officer on Tuesday.
Rowley was arrested and charged with second-degree robbery and fourth-degree larceny currently staying in jail.
