Liam Gallagher in Attempts to Reform Oasis Without Noel

The feud between the Gallagher brothers is legendary. Once upon a time they were the frontmen of incredibly successful Mancunian brit pop band Oasis. But they couldn’t get along and after nearly ten years Oasis split in 2009 to the dismay of many fans.

It has recently come to light that Liam Gallagher did, in fact, attempt to reform the band with its original line-up, which did not include his brother Noel.

Oasis’s history can be traced back to Manchester, 1991. Liam was then the frontman of a band called The Rain with Paul “Bonehead” Arthurs on guitar, Paul “Guigsy” McGuigan on bass and Tony McCarroll on drums. Brother Noel did not feature in the original line-up but joined shortly after as guitarist, vocalist and songwriter.

The fact that Liam Gallagher had attempted to reunite the original Oasis line-up sans Noel came to light when one of his followers asked him “if the old line up wanted to reform with just you, would you?” on Twitter. Liam responded that he had indeed tried to but that the others weren’t interested.

There were rumours of a reconciliation between the brothers but they have all been proved to be false as the on-going feud between them escalated once more when Liam reacted to comments Noel had made about artists who do not write their own songs.

It is common knowledge that Liam would be open and is keen to reform Oasis but Noel has always been very vocal about not wanting to as he is intent on building up and cementing his solo career with Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds. Noel has been know to say that being part of Oasis again would “kill him as a person”.
