Lana Del Rey has recently been accused of copying elements of the Radiohead song ‘Creep’, but she has responded by denying the claims.
Her songĀ ‘Get Free’ has been compared to the Radiohead hit yet Lana Del Rey has hit back to the comments by insisting that the track was not influenced by the song.
Reports have arisen that the singer, famed for songs such as ‘Born to Die’, ‘Lust for Life’ and ‘Summertime Sadness’, isĀ being sued by Radiohead for copyright infringement.
During the weekend allegations were made that elements have been copied and a source has suggested that both parties are looking to avoid courtroom activity by working behind the scenes to ‘thrash it out’.
It has been said, in addition, that Radiohead’s team are looking for a result in the form of compensation for the band or to be credited on theĀ the list of songwriters to receive royalties.
Lana Del Rey chose to respond to the ‘ripping off’ accusations by taking to Twitter. She wrote that although it is true about the impending lawsuit, she knows that her song wasn’t inspired by Radiohead’s ‘Creep’.
The news has sparked debate amongst fans of both musical acts, with people drawing comparisons and expressing their own opinions on social media.
