Kristen Bell confirms 'Veronica Mars' revival on Hulu

Veronica Mars is coming back for a new season. Series star Kristen Bell announced on Twitter that the series is coming to Hulu for fans to rewatch.
In August, Hulu was working on a revival of the show. Following Bell’s annnouncement, Hulu confirmed that it has picked up a limited, eight-episode season, with creator Rob Thomas coming back to write the first episode and produce the series.
The new season will follow Veronica as she’s hired to investigate the murders of spring breakers, in a “mystery that pits the enclave’s wealthy elites against a working class that relies on the cash influx that comes with being the West Coast’s answer to Daytona Beach.”
The series debuted in 2004 on UPN before moving to The CW for its third and final season in 2006. The show’s abrupt cancelation left fans hanging after Veronica’s father (Enrico Colantoni) lost his bid for sheriff and Veronica was last seen sulking in the rain. The ending sparked a Kickstarter campaign led by Bell and Thomas in 2013, which then led to the Veronic Mars movie. The 2014 film gave Veronica a better sendoff by reuniting her with her true love Logan Echolls (Jason Dohring) as she worked on solving a murder.
As part of the deal between Warner Bros. and Hulu, all three seasons of the original show and the 2014 movie will be available to stream summer of 2019.
Hulu is the second streaming service to pursue a limited series revival of a beloved CW series. Netflix recently brought back Gilmore Girls for four follow-up movies, also from the original creator and featuring the original stars and also produced by Warner Horizon.
The series won’t conflict with Bell’s lead role on The Good Place, which has already wrapped filming on its third season (it premieres on 27 September).
