KIFF announces a reception at Rose Theatre

The first inaugural Kingston International Film Festival (KIFF) was announced at a reception at the Rose Theatre in London, 27th July 2021. It will also host a special Evening of Shorts on 17th October 2021 at Rose Theatre.

The inaugural festival is set to screen the best films, both shorts and features, from around the world as well as inspire a new generation of British storytellers.  The new festival will take place in June of 2022 festival celebrating a diverse range of talent, both established and emerging. It was also announced that KIFF will host an Evening of Shorts on 17 October 2021 ahead of the main event next year. The 70-minute program will consist of award-winning short films, followed by a Q&A with filmmakers and KIFF organizers. 

The festival submissions open 5th January 2022 and closes on 31st April 2022. The submission categories are as follows:

  • U18 Short Film (UK only)
  • First Short Film
  • First Feature Film
  • Short Film
  • Feature Film
  • Short Documentary Film
  • Feature Documentary Film
  • U18 Short Screenplay (UK only)
  • Pitch and pilot episode for TV/small screen series

KIFF will take place in Kingston Upon Thames 24th – 26th June 2022. The festival KIFF will host a Gala Launch event at the BFI on Wednesday 12th January 2022 KIFF will be taking submissions for the 2022 festival between 5th January 2022 and 31st April 2022, via Film Freeway.
