Janelle Monáe’s Vagina Trousers might be Available Soon to Buy

The singer Janelle Monáe fans will be glad to know that they may soon be able to purchase a pair of the ‘vagina trousers’ as seen in her music video for ‘PYNK’.
The puffy, ruffled pink trousers have attracted a lot of attention since she and dancers wore them in the video for the single from her acclaimed new album ‘Dirty Computer‘. The outfit was designed by Duran Lantink.
“We may be working on that,” she told People magazine when quizzed about mass producing the pants. “I’m so tickled and honoured that people are talking about the ‘PYNK’ pants, I think that it’s so cool to have discussions around women’s issues and women’s bodies, I think it’s amazing.”
She also clarified the statement that initially there were no intention to resemble trousers a vagina.
“Sometimes I think people interpret those as vagina pants, they call them vulva pants, they call them flowers, but it just represents some parts of some women,” she continued.
Every dancer in the video did not wear the iconic pants, though.
“There are some women in the video that do not have on the pants, because I don’t believe that all women need to possess a vagina to be a woman,” Monáe stated. “I wanted ‘Pynk’ to be a celebration of women who are unique, distinct, different, may be different from one another but when they come together they create something magical and special.”
Disclosing that she initially identified as bisexual, Monáe added that she then “read about pansexuality and was like, ‘Oh, these are things that I identify with too’”.
“I’m open to learning more about who I am,” said Monáe.
