An actual IRL event might be happening later this summer and it is pretty exciting news for fans of Glastonbury.

A live-streamed event was supposed to take place on 22 May but for some reason, this five-day event was canceled by Glastonbury Festival organizers. This left its fans to be very disappointed especially after so many canceled events canceled over the past year due to the pandemic.

After consulting with residents and authorities, this new music festival was approved and it will take place for one day only and will be very different than Glastonbury.

Details of when tickets will be released will be revealed. The actual performer lineup has also not been revealed yet.

However, overnight camping isn’t permitted on the premises this time. The license that’s been approved only allows for a live concert of up to 50,000 attendees.

Sam Phipps, the council’s chair of licensing, said, “any event would have to be Covid-safe, and Mendip will work with other organizations and the organizers to make sure that’s the case.”
