Human Rights Workers are honored with Noble Peace Prize. Noble Peace Prize is given to the Human Rights Workers in Russia, Ukraine, and Belarus. The Noble Peace Prize will be awarded to the Belarusian human rights activist, Ales Bialiatski. The Noble Peace Prize will also be awarded to the Russian group named Memorial. It will also be awarded to the Ukrainian Organization Center for Civil Liberties.
The Noble Peace Prize Ceremony
The ceremony was conducted on 10th October 2022. The Norwegian Noble Committee announced this year’s Peace Prize honoring the winners. The event was conducted in the morning in Oslo. Berit Reiss Andersen, the Norwegian lawyer and the Noble Peace Prize committee member appreciated the effort. The prize winners have supposedly made an amazing effort to record war crimes. The appreciation is also made based on the record related to the human rights abuses, and abuse related to power.
The Noble Peace Prize Announcement
The Prize winners are eligibly put together to be the epitome signifying the civil society for peace and democracy. The Russian President celebrated his birthday on 7th October and as a result of it, the Peace Prize’s announcement came. Putin turned 70 on his birthday on 7th October. Berit Reiss Andersen urges the release of Bialiatski from prison. The veteran activist in that case could attend the award ceremony. The three laureates are chosen who represent human rights, democracy, and peaceful coexistence.
Oslo City Hall: The Noble Peace Prize Ceremony
Oslo City Hall is set to conduct the event on 10th December. All the participants from the three neighbouring countries will receive Swedish crowns worth £ 804,000. Reiss-Andersen opines as the announcement that came on the Russian President’s birthday was not meant to address him. She further mentions that Belarus’s government represents an authoritarian government that suppresses human rights activists.
