Every day three people in the UK are paralysed due to a spinal cord injury. A spinal cord injury can happen to anyone at any stage in their life. Like Bel, who at the age of 8 slipped and fell from a climbing frame, leaving her paralysed from the neck down unable to breathe for herself, and completely reliant on her family and carers.

Treatment options are very limited for spinal cord injury and currently there is no cure. Spinal research is the UK’s leading charity funding medical research to develop effective treatments for paralysis caused by spinal cord injury.
With no government funding it is only because of generous donations that Spinal Research can fund promising treatments which could not only help people to walk again, but also to recover hand and arm movement, bladder and bowel control, and breathe without a ventilator. Their ground-breaking research will also benefit other conditions such as stroke, Parkinson’s, MS and motor neurone disease.
Help find a cure by texting CORD19 £5 to 70070 or visit spinalresearch.org/donate to make a donation today and help change the future of spinal cord injury, giving hope to Bel and the thousands of other people living with a spinal cord injury.
