The former chief executive and chairĀ of the Wolverhampton-based construction and services company are amongst the senior executive members of Carillion who will be facing questions of MPs as part of an inquiry.
The inquiry’s objective will be to paint a clearer picture of what led to the recentĀ collapse of Carillion. Questions will aim to establish how heads of the management team managed the company before its collapse to better understand what went wrong.
The Financial Reporting Council will also be questioned as part of the inquiry. They will face questions about Carillion’s audit report which was carried out by KPMG.
The consequences of the collapse of the construction and services company have been devastating and will most probably resonate for sometime. Carillion provided many public services (cleaning, catering staff) andĀ were in the middle of construction of hospitals and schools. Thousands of people on Carillion’s payroll are now unemployed.
