Author: Bernardine Evaristo
Girl, Woman, Other follows the stories of twelve very different women from different social classes and generations. Tracing these different stories is what has given Bernardine Evaristo the possibility of exploring the history of Britain in times of great changes as well as what it was like and is still like to be a black woman in Britain. This is truly a wonderful novel, rich in themes and with a very attractive style. It 100% deserved to win the joint Man Booker prize this year!
