Author: Steve Howell
Steve Howell was one of the key members in Labour’s campaign during the 2017 general election. In Game Changer he draws from his own experience to paint a clear picture of the elements that led to Jeremy Corbyn’s Labour denying the Tory party the landslide that Theresa May had hoped for.
From the influence of the terror attacks in Manchester and London to the inspiration they drew from Bernie Sanders’ campaign for the Democrat nomination, Howell recounts with vivid detail the turning points in the election campaign.
Including extracts from media coverage of the campaign and presenting poll figures as it evolved, a lot of careful research and referencing has gone into this book. Working from first-hand experience, Steve Howell achieves giving the reader an insider’s look into the election machine, the amount of work that went into it and what measures are put into action when things go wrong.
Despite it recounting past events, the easy and personal language floods each page with excitement and hope and the book achieves to fill the reader with a sense of hope of what could be achieved by Labour in future elections.
A truly wonderful and insightful look into the work and dedication that go into running a successful campaign. A book for the politics lover!
