The Scottish rockers have got quite a reputation to live up to so it’s something of a culture shock listening to what is a rather experimental affair. Normally if a band puts out a record so at odds with what they’ve previously done it’s tucked away at a mid point between more familiar territory where any harm is limited. This though is a brave move and one that doesn’t entirely fail although it may well disappoint. You find yourself wondering what exactly it was that the Ferdinand boys were smoking when they wrote this. Not exactly a miss it falls well short of being a hit too.
