Ukulele Lesson for All
- D+A+E Chords in Ukulele
- To play the D chord, place your index finger on the second fret of the first string and your ring finger on the third fret of the fourth string.
- To play the A chord, place your middle finger on the second fret of the second string and your ring finger on the second fret of the third string.
- To play the E chord, place your index finger on the second fret of the second string, your middle finger on the second fret of the third string, and your ring finger on the first fret of the fourth string.
- Strum down on all four strings for each chord.
- Practice changing between the chords slowly at first until you are comfortable with the strumming pattern.
- Once you have mastered the basic chords, you can start to experiment with different strumming patterns and rhythms. You can also try playing different songs that use these chords.
Guitar lesson on effective finger exercises
- D+A+E (All major chords) guitar lesson
- D major chord: Place your fingers on the 2nd fret of the 2nd string (ring finger), 3rd fret of the 1st string (index finger), and 2nd fret of the 3rd string (middle finger). Strum all six strings.
- A major chord: Place your fingers on the 2nd fret of the 6th string (index finger), 2nd fret of the 5th string (middle finger), and 3rd fret of the 4th string (ring finger). Strum all six strings.
- E major chord: Place your fingers on the 1st fret of the 6th string (index finger), 2nd fret of the 5th string (middle finger), and 3rd fret of the 4th string (ring finger). Strum all six strings.
- Chord progression: To play the chord progression D+A+E, simply play each chord for one to two counts. You can start by playing the D chord, then the A chord, and then the E chord. Once you are comfortable with that, you can try playing the chords in a different order, such as E+D+A or A+E+D
