People are in grief as the Ethiopian Airlines Flight ET302 crashed shortly after departing Addis Ababa on the way to Nairobi, that killed around 157 people on Monday at 8:44a.m.
The Boeing 737 MAX 8 lost contact with air traffic controllers after six minutes it took-off and dropped into the ground 31 miles south of Addis Ababa. All the people on the board have lost their lives in this pathetic plane crash.
Among them 149 passengers, eight crew members and at least 35 nationalities including United Nations staff were among those killed.
Austria’s foreign affairs ministry confirmed that three doctors were on the flight. Eight Chinese tourists and corporate representatives taly’s eight victims included two World Food Program employees, a UNICEF member and a Sicilian cultural ambassador also lost their lives.
The pilot reported an unspecified issue and was given permission to return to the Ethiopian capital’s Bole airport.
“Ethiopian Airlines is one of the safest airlines in the world. At this stage we cannot rule out anything,” said CEO Tewolde Gebremariam.
“The plane showed unstable vertical speed after takeoff,” said an air traffic monitor Flightradar 24.
Authorities are investigating the exact reason of the crash but still the reason is not clear.
