The mother of dragon, Breaker of Chains, The unburnt Daenerys Targaryen on the hit fantasy series “Game of Thrones” took to Instagram on Monday to farewell the show after wrapping production on the eighth and final season.
Uploading a photo of himself lying in a field of flowers in Northern Island, She posted a heartbreaking message to the fans while saying adieu to the set and the fans.
“Hopped on a boat to an island to say goodbye to the land that has been my home away from home for almost a decade,” wrote the Targaryen girl, “It’s been a trip @gameofthrones thank you for the life I never dreamed I’d be able to live and the family I’ll never stop missing #lastseasonitis.”
The 31-year-old actress is saying goodbye to the HBO drama after nearly a decade of portraying the Mother of Dragons where it is certainly bittersweet to read her words, although the silver lining is that GOT is completing the filming process.
It’s unclear what Clarke meant by her intention to “say goodbye” to “Game of Thrones”. Many fans automatically assumed that the actress was on her way to film the final scenes of the show, but she could be on set for as long as two more months
She didn’t give anything away with a behind the scenes or in-costume photo rather she’s way too clever for that at this point choosing instead to post a casual photo of herself laying in a bed of flowers.
Many of Clarke’s co-stars were quick to comment on the Mother of Dragon’s heartfelt goodbye. “Sweet words. Love you and HOLY balls. #itistheend,” wrote Lena Headey aka Cersei Lannister.
“Love u. Proud of you,” wrote Jason Momoa, who played her onscreen husband Khal Drogo.
