Dhaka Lit Fest (DLF), a platform to celebrate culture and literature will start from 7 November on the historic grounds of the Bangla Academy in Dhaka.
This is the ninth edition of Dhaka lit fest which will be held from 7-9 November.
Sadaf Saaz, a director of Dhaka Lit Fest said in a press conference that over 200 local and international literary figures, intellectuals and performers from five continents will participate in the three-day long literary festival, with over 100 sessions.
“Sessions like book launching, film screenings, a photography exhibition, and children’s creative sessions will be also available in the fest, which are free and open to all,” added Sadaf.
With the support of cultural affairs ministry, this festival will bring western and South Asian writers and intellectuals together.
This year’s line-up will feature Bangladeshi born British award-winning author and Booker Prize finalist Monica Ali, literary icon Shankar, Pulitzer Prize-winning writer Jeffrey Gettleman, historian William Dalrymple, writer Shashi Tharoor, and DSC Prize-winning writer HM Naqvi.
Other famous names at this year’s DLF include poet Tishani Doshi, author Swapnamoy Chakraborty, poet and journalist Mridul Dasgupta, Syed Manzoorul Islam, Imdadul Haq Milan, Kaiser Haq and Shaheen Akhtar and many others.
This year DLF will also present the screening of ‘Hasina: A Daughter’s Tale’ and an appearance by Mani Shankar Mukherjee as special highlights.
