Instead, players will have complete control over their gender and appearance. The team told Polygon that you’ll be able to give players’ version of V a proper first and last name.V, a mercenary whose sex, hairstyles, face, body type, body modifications, background, and clothing are customisable. V’s clothing alters how interactions fare with non-player characters (NPCs), who are also at V’s disposal for romantic and sexual relationships.
In a first-person perspective, players assume the role of the customisable mercenary V, who can apply experience points to stat upgrades to reach prominence in the character classes NetRunner, Techie, and Solo. V has an arsenal of ranged weapons and options for melee combat, all of which can be proliferated and modified. Travelling across Night City, V is subject to either walking or driving various vehicles. Branching dialogues are used for conversations with non-player characters, and multiple endings are available.
Third-person views will be limited to cinematic sequences like narrative cutscenes and sex scenes, but will also be an option during the game’s many driving sequences.
