If you just finished Cruella on Disney+ and dying to know what will happen next we have great news for you. Disney is gearing up for the Cruella sequel and of course with Emma Stone on the lead role.
The second film will once again include director Craig Gillespie and screenwriter Tony McNamara at the helm, and Emma is likely to recap her role as Estella/Cruella as the iconic villain. They will also include stars such as Emma Thompson, John McCrea, and Kirby Howell-Baptiste.
Cruella was released on May 28 in both theaters and via Disney+’s Premium Access. Based on its high box office reports, it opened to positive reviews and has till now made USD 32.4 million domestically and USD 48.5 million worldwide.
A Disney spokesperson said in a statement that, “we are very pleased with Cruella’s box office success, in conjunction with its strong Disney+ Premier Access performance to date.”
At the beginning of this year, Gillespie hinted at the possibility of a sequel. He said,” we’ve only just met” Emma Stone’s rendition of the classic Disney character. “I’d love to now see the full-blown Cruella, fully loaded.”
