Ariana Grande’s Sweetener World Tour earned her $146.4 million and was attended by 1.3 million people over 97 shows. Following in the footsteps of some of her showbiz pals (Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber), there have been talks of a behind-the-scenes style movie.
In early August Ariana’s team was reported to be negotiating with some of the big players for the rights to distribute the film: this included YouTube and Netflix. On Monday, fans were quick to notice that the popstar began following Netflix on Instagram – is this a hint that suggests that the Sweetener Tour movie will be released on the streaming giant?

This isn’t Grande’s first tour documentary. Back in 2018, close friend Alfredo Flores created the Dangerous Woman Diaries on Youtube Premium. This series followed Ariana during her 2017 Dangerous Woman Tour, as well as the making of the Sweetener album and the events of the Manchester Arena bombing.
While the Sweetener movie is still speculation at this point, it is thought that the documentary will show the pop star in a more raw depiction of life on the road, especially after the 2017 suicide bombing and her ex-boyfriend Mac Miller’s suicide.
Like everything the singer does, it is sure to be popular and a huge success. Fans will just have to wait for real confirmation that the tour movie is on its way.
